google Boss GT-8 froums and see what you get. There should be some forums out there for it.

Yep - there's a ton of stuff out there because the Boss stuff is so popular. You'll find all sorts of downloads, files, discussions and web communities talking about how and what.

SRV's basic sound is an overdriven valve amp stack and a Ibanez Tube-Screamer. However most valve overdrive pedals basically use the tube-screamer circuitary so most overdrive pedals will do a close job. It's more about what's in your fingers. Go easy on the processing and try to use it more gently (less is usually more). At higher volumes you definately want to cut back on the processing - it will just muddy up your sound into a sort of wall of mush. In the sixties - Jimi Hendrix, Pete Townshend, Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Keith Richard - there's no processing going on apart from fuzz and wah in the later 60's. The amps are completely dry (exept on the studio recordings) and that's where the hot, in yer face blues / rock tone comes from.
