Hofner's new Jazz Series has really got it going! It's a L5 Style with modern appointments. Designed in Germany, but built in Korea for an affordable price. The quality is amazing. If you've been searching for a quality, affordable, jazz box, here it is.
Here's the details: 3 1/4" thickness, 17" lower bout, highly flamed maple sides and back body, laminated spruce top, symmetrical profile maple neck, 25" scale length (just between Fender and Gibson scale.) Continuing with the Hofner standard appointments the H5 has 5 ply binding on the body with gold hardware, ebony fretboard, bridge, pickguard, tone and volume knobs and tuner buttons and tail piece, bone nut, and has 22 frets, joined at the 16th. One floating Mini Humbucking, It also comes with a mounted full size Humbucking if you prefer.
Shown is the mini floating. and acoustically the guitar is very loud.
Mine has the natural blond finish and it's beautiful! It also comes in a deep rich cinnamon finish or a cherry red finish. On both finishes the maple flame is highlighted. I also have one with the mounted full size humbucker which produces more of a "Wes" tone
