Here's a beautiful example of the Gibson Herb Ellis ES-165 in sunburst. This 1992 guitar has been well well taken of and it shows! it does have slight fret and fretboard wear but there's nothing to worry about as it is one of the smoothest playing 165s I've owned. There's a small amount of finish checking in the back but dings are minimal and the finish is beautiful. The gold hardware is great considering it's age and the tone is dark and rich.
The 165 is essentially a es-175minus the bridge pickup. The absence of the bridge pickup lets the top vibrate more than a 175. The maple laminated top side and back give the guitar it's own unique dark sound and is built to be strong less likely to crack due to weather or and accident. 16" bout 3 1/2 inch body depth. 243/4 scale length. Mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard, gold hardware and gold Tune-O-Matic bridge with rosewood foot. Rich strung the guitar with with his personal string set, adjusted the action for ease of playing and raised the pickup ring off the top giving this guitar a more responsive top. Hard shell case included. Call Rich at 805-460-6370 to purchase or for questions.
