I'm going to try to learn a new chord melody arrangement a week. Starting with Rich's version of Just Friends. Anyone care to try to do the same? My goal is to work up 10-20 arrangements for doing solo guitar gigs.

can't say i have the time to do the same but i do have a question about Rich's chord melody arrangements (since i have not tried one yet)
the focus seems to be on fingerstyle as opposed to pick style...
not that good at finger style but pretty good using hybrid pick and fingers...
will Rich's arrangements work using this hybrid technique?

Hi Gary, sorry I missed your post (I would have written back sooner). Yes, you can do the chord melody arrangements with a pick or hybrid techniques if you don't specifically play fingerstyle. I think the value is in getting the left hand chord and melody shapes down regardless of right hand technique. Rich is offering a free download of America the Beautiful as a solo guitar piece. Check it out and see if your right hand technique is comfortable.
