Holiday Greetings to all,

Just wanted to tell Rich that I have been listening to his CDs: Blue Christmas, Holiday Guitar and Wes Side of Heaven. I have been playing all three on my iTunes "Severson" Playlist and put the mode on random - it's all that I have been listening to this whole weekend!

Wes Side of Heaven: Rich is straigh ahead and burning! Check Out Stella by Starlight, Autumn Leaves and Au Privave.
Blue Christmas: Rich is swingin!
Holiday Guitar: Should be called Solo Holiday Guitar. It really is Rich unaccompanied except for 3 songs that he uses a backing track (White Christmas, Let it Snow!, Beautiful Savior) - don't let Little Drummer Boy fool your ear. Rich is just crossing strings to get that "Snare drum" sound.

I also have been working very hard internalizing the Bop Blues lessons (I'm on Solo #4) Rhythm Lessons (Learning the Head to Oleo before I go on to Solo #1) and Christmas tunes: Christmas time is Here, Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas, The First Noel & Silent Night. I hope to upload videos soon. I have the web cam but the audio is something that I have to work out.

Thanks Rich for igniting the fire in my belly to return to playing Bebop and fallling in love with the guitar again!!!

Anyone else out there? Post what you are working on. This is a great place of learning.

Merry Christmas and Safe New Year's Eve,
Carlo

P.S. Rich I would like to request Video Lessons for Charlie Parker Blues Changes (Chi Chi, Blues for Alice, Laird Baird)

I have to agree with you Carlo. Rich's Christmas CDs are my favorites. I've been enjoying them for the last few weeks. Happy holdays to you.

By the way, Rich covers those blues changes in the Jazz I course over the tune Cookin (it's in Bb instead of Parker's usual key of F), but it's great. I don't know if there is any video material for it, but there is an audio recording.

PS, I'm working on fingerstyle arrangements for everything I can get my hands on, as well as trying to develop more modern improv lines.

Hi Eric,

Thanks so much for the direction for Bird Blues Changes. That was what I was working on when I stopped playing guitar back in 2003. This gives me more incentive to purchase Jazz 1 Course. The deal I will make with myself is when I can play all 12 Bop Blues Solo's my reward is to purchase Rich's Jazz 1 Course.

Same here guys! I'm such an avid fan of Rich's work that I've purchased all his audio lessons first followed by all his videos in the Fingerstyle and Jazz genre to work on from beginning to end.

I've already worked my way through "Killer Joe", "Tune Up", "Cookin'", "Little Boat", "Phase Dance", "Georgia" and am presently on "Autumn Leaves"

Sometimes I cheat and skip over to the videos and also work on some of that stuff as well, but I just can't help it! This course has put me back on track to practicing every single day. It's just the best!!
