Alternate Rhythms
Featuring drummer Shawn Glyde with Rich Severson on guitar. This album has gotten rave reveiws! Alternate Rhythm's song concepts and structuring are based off of drum rhythms and ideas that were later integrated into song forms. It took Shawn 10 weeks to come up with initial concept and structure for all 10 tunes. He then performed the drum arrangement (in his home studio) while tracking onto his hard disk recorder. Weeks later, with the assistance of a few brilliant musician friends, they composed the harmonic and melodic elements to each and every tune. You could say this music was constructed backwards. Lots of guitar on "Tribal Five".
