Have you heard about our Yosemite Jazz Guitar and Bass Workshop? We have held this Workshop for over 20 years, and it continues to grow each year. Many players have attended repeatedly, not only for the learning aspect but also for the camaraderie and friendships they have built with the other players that come.
This year’s workshop is June 9-14, 2024 in Oakhurst, CA, near the southern entrance of Yosemite. The facility is a beautiful nature-filled mountain retreat that is relaxing, clean, and comfortable, with no phones or TVs (except in the dining hall.) The retreat facility has Wi-Fi and cell service if you need to stay in touch. The price of the workshop includes lodging and all of your meals!

You will spend the daytime hours on Monday through Wednesday working on a song each day in sessions with each of the 3 guitar instructors; Bruce Forman, Mike Dana, & Rich Severson. This will give you a variety of insights and perspectives on the song, styles, creativity, and performance. You will match up with other participants to practice your song in the afternoon and then you’ll perform at the Live Playing Jams each evening where you get to play in a full band setting with a student bass player and our in-house drummer Gary Newmark.
On Thursday we head to a local wine bar and have our own concert where the students play in their groups. It’s a fun and exhilarating experience and it is followed by a great performance by the teachers. It’s the perfect way to cap off the week!
