Hofner's newest archtop jazz series has really got it going! It's an L5 Style with modern appointments. Designed in Germany, but built in China for amazing quality at an affordable price.
Here's the details: Single cutaway body style, 3 3/8" thickness, 17" lower bout, highly flamed maple sides and back body, laminated spruce top, symmetrical profile maple neck, 251/2" scale length with 13/4" nut width. Continuing with the Hofner fine standard appointments the HCT-J17 has 5 ply binding on the body with chrome hardware, ebony fretboard, tunomatic bridge, standard pickguard, classic Hofner tail piece, white tone and volume knobs, with 22 frets, joined at the 16th. For added neck strength it has a headstock/neck volute. This model has two mounted pick ups and is available in Vintage Sunbust only. It's the next best thing to an L-5 for an affordable price!
